If you are looking for a way to give an upgrade to your personal web page, your email, or to jazz up your Myspace page, you just might want to look into getting some animated backgrounds. These can really be great fun, but can also be a pain. If you don’t know anything about html, you will probably have a hard time getting them added to your site, and more importantly, if you aren’t careful about where you get your animated backgrounds etc, you will probably end up getting some nasty surprises like spyware downloads or malware and you will have to download some anti spyware software to clear the spyware out.

There is an abundance of places on the Internet where you can download animated backgrounds. You just have to be very careful when you do so. There are many places that offer smilies, fonts, and animated backgrounds, but more often than not they are also offering you something else. Yes you’ve guest it, when downloading from these sites; you are more than likely to get some spyware downloads and malware downloads as part of the package.

It has happened to me, and I’m now as a result, very careful about where I get things online. Unfortunately I wasn’t so careful the first time I tried to get some smilies and animated backgrounds. At the time I was more interested in getting it over and done with. I went to Smilie Central and downloaded their program. It was a stupid mistake on my part, but a lot of other people make the same mistake every day. My computer was instantly infected with spyware downloads. It almost crippled my computer. It took me quite a while to figure out what was going on, and to clean up the spyware from my system with some anti spyware software.

Many sites do this because they know you are innocently looking for a few animated backgrounds, or searching for a neat mouse pointer for your computer. They give you the stuff for free, but then use there spyware downloads to get your information so that they can then sell it to spam mailers and the like. The spyware they install on your computer tells them where you go on the Internet and what your browsing habits are. This information is valuable to a lot of people. They may even install malware, which can do damage to your operate system, or pick up your passwords or credit card information.

If you decide to download animated backgrounds or anything else of that nature from the internet, have your spyware eliminator and antivirus running as you download, you can never know just what they could find. They will, in most cases, pick up on any extra stuff trying to come through your computer. After you have installed or downloaded, run your anti spyware software to make sure everything was caught. Some downloadable programs won’t run if you remove the spyware downloads, but the choice is up to you. Do you want the free animated backgrounds, or do you want your privacy?

I have also encountered spyware downloads when I have downloaded things like animated backgrounds. The truth is you can never be too careful, even well known free software like kazaa contains its own spyware downloads. You can use a spyware eliminator to get rid of it of cause, but if you do so, in most cases the programme will stop working. Its spyware probably isn’t as bad as a lot of the other spyware out there, but it’s still spyware all the same.
